A program has been started to refer students studying courses related to the scope of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) under the Ministry of Labor to Changshin University in South Korea for further education. Accordingly, a special meeting was held between the officials of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the representatives of that university recently at the Ministry of Labour.

Changshin University (Changshin University) was named as a recognized university by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka last year.

Under this program, students studying at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will be able to obtain higher education up to the degree level at Changxing University at a very discounted fee and will also have the opportunity to work part-time while studying. Basically, students have to pay only 50% of the course fee and the students who are good at learning activities, get the opportunity to free up to 100% of the course fee to be paid is a specialty of this program. Students who complete their degree also have the opportunity to get permanent jobs in South Korea.

During this discussion, the representatives of both sides focused deeply on the measures that can be taken to enroll more students for the course by expanding this program between the two countries. The Deputy Minister further stated that it is the government's desire to create more professionals and provide them with more opportunities not only in the local labor market but also in the foreign labor market.

After getting cabinet approval for this program, it was agreed in this meeting to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two parties and to do it within the next month. Mr. Piyatissa, Acting Director General of the National Occupational Safety and Health Institute Mr. Duminda Jayalath and representatives of South Korea's Changshing University as well as a group of students who studied there and won their degrees were also present.
