The Ministry of Labor will also start work in the new year.

The ceremony organized by the Ministry of Labor and the institutions under it to mark the commencement of their duties for the year 2026 was held today (01) in the morning at Narahenpita - Mehewara Piesa premises. Attention was paid to the government policies and programs that have been introduced to overcome the given current challenges and to effectively get the contribution of government officials to achieve that goal.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Labor SM Piyatissa, Labor Commissioner General Nadika Wataliyadda, Director General of Manpower and Security Department KGHHR Kiriella, Director General of the National Occupational Safety and Health Institute E. Abeysiriwardena and the General Manager of Shrama Vasana Fund DR Jayalath and many government officials were present.
