The Magistrate's Court Colombo operates as an important part of the Sri Lankan judicial system, primarily handling criminal matters, minor offences, preliminary inquiries, and other cases assigned under the law. The court also exercises jurisdiction over matters relating to bribery and corruption, cybercrimes, traffic offences, maintenance cases, and various other summary proceedings. The Magistrate's Court Colombo is dedicated to ensuring the fair administration of Justice while safeguarding the legal rights of individuals and maintaining social order. With the support of judicial officers and court staff, the court strives to provide an efficient, transparent, and accessible service to the public in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.

The public and members of the legal fraternity are hereby informed that, the Credit and Debit Card payment facilities are available for all court-related payments. Key Details of the Service: •Scope of Facility: Card payments are now accepted for all categories of payments, including court fines, bail deposits, certified copy fees, and other statutory fees payable at the court registry. •Accepted Payment Cards: Visa, Mastercard, and major Sri Lankan debit/credit cards. •Location: Dedicated counters for each court operates as card payment terminals. •Traditional Options: Cash payment counters will continue to function as usual alongside the card payment service. This digital initiative aims to provide greater convenience, security, and transparency for litigants and legal practitioners by reducing the need to carry cash for court transactions.
